7 AAC 50.220
CAREGIVER AGE REQUIREMENTS AND ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADOLESCENT CAREGIVERS

(a) A caregiver in a child care facility must be at least 18 years old to be counted toward meeting the caregiver-to-child ratio requirements of 7 AAC 50.405, except that a caregiver age 14 through 17 may be counted if

(1) the caregiver has completed a child care training course or has demonstrated competency in child care to the satisfaction of the administrator;

(2) the caregiver works under supervision of an adult caregiver;

(3) the caregiver works in close physical proximity to an adult caregiver; and

(4) [C] in a child care center, caregivers under the age of 18 make up no more than one-fourth of the total caregiving staff. (Eff. 1/1/96, Register 136; am 3/1/98, Register 145)
