CENTRAL REGISTRY OF CHILD PROTECTION
A. A review of the Central Registry of Child Protection is required to determine
whether any owner, applicant, employee, licensee, or resident in a licensed
facility is the subject of a report of child abuse.
B. A review of the Central Registry of Child Protection (Central Registry)
must be requested within 10 working days of the first day of employment for
each employee of a facility. A review with the Central Registry need not occur
if the employee changes employment to a different facility that has the same
governing body.
- The request to the Department must be made on a form prescribed
by the Department. The form must be submitted to the Department with the required
fee paid by check or money order.
- The Department will inform the operator or director in writing whether
or not a report is confirmed or not confirmed on the Central Registry.
- If there is a confirmed report of abuse or neglect on the Central
Registry, the Department will supply the director or operator with the incident
date, location of investigation, type of abuse or neglect, and the county
that investigated the incident.
C. Any information obtained about an applicant for employment or employee must
be kept confidential pursuant to 19-3-313(10), C.R.S. The director or operator
may inform an applicant or employee that the director or operator's decision with
regard to the applicant or employee's employment was, in whole or in part, the
result of the report from the Central Registry.
