Anyone know where to get those little paper umbrellas that come on tropical drinks? I'm doing a beach theme for July and would love to put those in the beach sensory bin I'm doing.

do you have a Christmas Tree Shop near you??? They usually have them in the summer. Maybe even Dollar Tree?

Our local dollar tree has them right now, and a ton of luau/beach type stuff.

As a last resort - a party store always has those things.

I found them by the straws. I checked our local dollar store, but they were out.

Thanks everyone! I have several reasons to get back to Target this weekend so I'll look there, and failing that I'll check the $1 store. I'm hoping to not have to order online because I want this silly box in place on Tuesday. I'm learning that I really need to plan my themes a month or two in advance, not two days in advance!

What are you using for the filler?

I've been using colored rice, but looking for something else.

Well, for this one I'm using sand. :) If you didn't want the mess of sand you could probably go with small pasta, sandy-colored beads (or maybe wooden beads), maybe pea gravel...I'm sure there are other great ideas out there, too. I know a lot of people will use dried beans, dried peas (like split peas), cotton balls, pom-poms, those flat colored glass marble things, colorful beads...Check out the blog Counting Coconuts for a bunch of great ideas for sensory tubs.
