I have been using it with my rather mouthy kids, and it's working..

we keep changing the words, though, and today it was "tooty fruity".

I had to give myself a timeout for saying it (after someone was blowing rasberries), and then my teenage daughter told me I had to sit quietly, and I didn't, and I yelled "tooty fruity" at her again, so my timeout started over. FINALLY, I quieted down, and I got to get up. whew! The whole act lasted about 10 minutes, and my dd is a fantastic straight-man (or woman).

DC kids are laughing hysterically at my act the whole time! I've GOT to hone that sense of humor...

Nan adviced that when a child says a naughty thing just to "get your goat", she says 'Ooooh, you can say that, but don't say.....Peanut Butter Pickle Sandwiches! " or something silly like that. Basically, using humor to redirect them. It takes away their power to piss you off, and turns it into something funny.

I have a little girl who lives for attention-any kind. Blowing rasberries is a favorite, and since she has toddler twin brothers, now they do it, too.
