My infants sleep in another room with the door closed. I have a baby monitor on so I can hear any movement. But I find myself going in every 15-20 mins and putting my hand on their backs to feel them breathe.
How often do you check on your sleeping babies?

I do the same as you. Door closed, fan on for white noise, baby monitor for movement and I go in and feel them quite often. Sometimes I will be on my way in but hear a deep sigh on the monitor so I stop. Lobe that!!

Every 15-20 minutes, unless it's unusually quiet or they've been sleepign for an abnormally long time.

I have a video monitor that is super close to the crib. I can see them breathing.
Before I got it though, I had kids under a year sleep right where I can see them and hear them. Within sight AT ALL times.

We must check on infants every 15 minutes here. Monitors don't count either.

With my own kids I compulsively checked every 20 minutes. I even have to put my hand on their bellies to make sure they are breathing just to double check.
I also kept them napping right near me until about 6 months or so, so I had constant visual.
I have heard so many stories about SIDS, and how a baby may have died if not for a watchful provider or parent to notice they weren't breathing and get them to wake up.
I dont take daycare babies under 6 months bc of my fear of SIDS, but if I did I would keep them right next to me until they were older infants, and then I would get a video monitor.

A video monitor might be a good investment. It will probably make your day a lot easier if you can see them breathing. Then you dont risk waking them up as well. :)

Here too. Monitors are helpful but don't count either. I'd still have to physically check on them every 15 minutes (CA).

Here in UT too. Unless you have a state approved monitor, like this:

Even if I had the above item, I'd still do it every 15 minutes just because I'm paranoid. :o
