Help!!

So, I don't know if it's just my group of dck or if everyone's have been this way, but this week it seems like all they want to do is fight, argue, scream at each other, run in the house, knock each other down outside, and anything else possible to drive us CRAZY.
We had some state people come yesterday to do our practice assessment with the new grading scale, and the kids were HORRIBLE. We have done time out, eating lunch alone, no playtime, silent time, bed early, EVERYTHING I can think of. I had a really long talk with all of them today, and they even admitted they were being bad! I mean, really, if you KNOW you are being bad, then change it...right?!
On the other hand, I got a lot of new stuff from our Resource and Referral office, and I split them into pairs today to play with different stuff. It seemed to work a little better than what they've been doing, but I think it's just because it's new. I can't constantly buy something new to pull out to make them stop acting like this. Any suggestions??

How about a call to mom or dad at work? My older kids know that their parents would be PO'd if I had to call them at work and interupt them because their kids were being bad. I have a talk about what went on (a general walkthrough) and then have the child explain in his or her words what happened. If I have to this one more time in the same day it's a call to have the child picked up. I'm a home-based center so I don't know if that would work for you.
