When I lived in another state and worked away from home, tax time my dclady would just hand me a slip of paper with my total which I double checked against my records. Then her SSN on the paper. I knew her name and address already. Honestly half the time this was handed to me on a piece of yellow steno paper.
I registered online for a tax id number (TIN). It can be used to replace your social security number for parents, taxes, bank accounts etc. Parents can't steal your credit info that way either.
