I chose to charge a daily rate too. It wasn't too bad because my rate was $45 a day and dcb pretty much never missed. If I restart my daycare I will be switching to weekly tuition though. I want a steady paycheck 52 weeks a year.That's so important. I have such a huge checklist of "things not to do next time"
I did offer my family the option to switch to a lower weekly rate or keep the per day. They kept the per day option which should tell you something.
