I have an assistant who does backup. My husband is a very, very last resort. Hes perfectly capable and the parents all know him well but if I was a daycare mom, I would not be okay with someone's husband taking over all the time. Thats just me. If I am gone, I try and schedule it during nap time or at the very end of the day which are the easiest times for the assistant or my husband to take over. If you are pregnant, I think it might be for the best to have some sort of reliable backup that is NOT your husband. Its best to be prepared should an emergency happen with the baby during daycare hours.
