DO IT! It's so rewarding. I have to say, we get so much out of it, so maybe it's not as selfless as we think. We have learned the proper way to train a dog, everything from pottying to advanced commands. We have the benefit of 'having' a dog but without the cost. And my daughter with autism reaps benefits we can not yet explain but I swear she is 100% better when he is here. If we had the financial means we would apply for a dog for her. For now it is what it is and one day when she's old enough to take the handlers test we will get one.
