I have farm fence up in my play area. It's green and we got both it and the post from craiglist. Don't know where in NY you are and what the restrictions are but it works well for us. We got enough to fence a 100' x 40' section for about $100. The gate was extra and we got it from the local Tractor Supply Store but I've seen them since on craiglist for $10-$20.
