Counting My Blessings

Just when I think I am starting to get ahead and life will even out...

A new client #2 enrolled a few months ago and this client is awesome! Never had such a nice parent and child team! Usually it's good kid bad parent or vice versa. Well DCM forgot to inform me her child wasn't coming to daycare a few days ago. She was very apologetic and very sincere. 1st time ever having a problem so I was going to let it slide with no fee. She ALWAYS calls for everything! Not only did she show up the next day with a box of chocolates and card with handwritten apology she also paid me for the day her child wasn't here. ( I don't charge unless the child is here unless for a fee ) I told her I wasn't charging her and she insisted. OMG AWESOME!!! NEVER been treated so well!

Just as I am giddy with joy client #1 who has been with me for over a year in and out with drama, informs me she is being sanctioned and losing all welfare benefits and can no longer have daycare and the kids wouldn't be in on Monday. "see ya when I see ya" She doesn't care it just means she doesn't have to do the work training now.

I just can't get ahead. I knew this clients end was coming as she has been frauding the govt with her entitled attitude for years and slacking off more. I guess it finally caught up with her. What upsets me is when she said this is her 3rd offense and asked me to hold her spot for 3 months because she will get all of her assistance back in 3 months. WHY does the govt continue to help people like this??? It should be 3 strikes you are out for life!

Normally I lose it and get depressed and worry but I do have a great client to keep my hopes up that there are others like her out there. HONEST, WORKING, PAYING clients with a CONSCIENCE! I swear I want to pin a medal on her chest! Sad part is she is only part time so 1/2 the money.

I guess I will manage on my savings for a month or so I just hope someone comes knocking soon! Until then I thank God for the blessings I do have.
