Default I Wish I Knew...

What is going on with one of my dcb's. All week he's been acting out. He's 2 1/2 and he's been coming in really tired but mom and dad have said he's sleeping well at home. I figured out that the reason he won't eat breakfast for me is that they bring a full milk cup in the mornings and that fills him up so he will only eat a light breakfast. But today...he had juice and wouldn't eat much at all for breakfast and lunch he only ate some veggies and some fruit. He loves our Dinosaurs Chicken nuggets. This time he wouldn't eat any. He ashually asked to get down and go to nap... So I layed him down 30 min earlier then I normally do and he was out in 2 min. I ended up calling mom after the rest of the kids where put down bc he's been really fussy, argumentative, doesn't want to share, bit one of the kids, would not sit in time out for the biting so I've had him next to me most of the day. It really hasn't been much fun for him today. It isn't like him to have this bad of a day. I expect some problems as all kids will have but it's been from the moment his mom left this morning. He asked to go potty and ended up accidentally peeing on the back of his pants and edge of his undies and he just lost it. It started from there...I'm sooo tired!!

Could he be coming down with something? I know one of mine was very tired last week and yep, they came down with the flu over the weekend. Also, they are still very whiney 4 days later so I know they still aren't feeling real well still!

I wish I knew..he isn't runny a temp at all...When I called mom she said she hoped he wasn't coming down with anything and I said maybe he has his 2 yr old mollers coming in??? Hands have been in his mouth all week...and he's bitten one of the boys. He is a bitter here but he hasn't bit in a month or so so I am not sure what is going on.

Now mom did mention that he knows that they are leaving out of town and he's staying with his grandma Fri-Mond. Dad mentioned this a couple days ago but I thought that little guy was going to from the way he mentioned it. Mom said that she's also been working late quiet a bit and that could be why he's acting out. Maybe...I just am at a loss...I want to work with him on his behavior but he is just past the point of following any rules. I never have had to make a call home bc of behavior. But I was really at a lose as to what is going on with him. I didn't just want to spring on the parents you son had a awful day. I wanted to make a call home and really talk about it...it bothered me that bad...kwim?

Sounds like he is coming down with something or that mom is working late.
I have had kids act out b/c of both of these issues. One lil boy I have always get emotional when he starts to get sick. If he melts down or won't eat I call mom and tell her he is getting sick.
Another boy I had always loved coming to daycare and then one week he starts crying when he comes. Mom looks at me (accusingly) and says what is going on? Why has he started crying? I looked right back at her and said not one thing has changed here, how about at home? She says OH, well I have started a second job and have been gone the last few evening. (DUH)
I said , well there you have it.

Dad picked up today and apologized...I said "Ohh my gosh don't apologize...really it is ok...I just was worried about him bc he has never had this kind of day. It's very rare to have such a unhappy guy and it broke my heart but it also was hard to deal with. I am so worn out...it is time to go to bed!!

On the side not he woke up from nap just fine very well rested after a 3 hr nap and was just fine before pick up. Dad said that he really thinks it has to do with the fact that they are leaving for 4 days on vacation with out little guy and grandpa is watching him this time not his other grandma. So little guy could really be having internal issues with this. I just wish I had known that dcb wasn't coming as I thought he was...I would of at least been prepared...

I have 1 that was off all week too. I think hers was because she knew momma was home all week on vacation and she wanted to be home too. Everything resulted in crying, tantrums, and fits. Thankfully it is Friday and Monday is a new week!
