I have posted before about how I like Pampers least of all wipes. I had a child bring me a new box of them and have decided I will use them just for wiping faces after meals.
Now that I am not using them in the changing room I am SHOCKED to notice they SMELL LIKE POOP!! not only are the thin and slimly but stinky too! Gross gross gross. I have never told parent what they can and cannot bring but i think I will be asking parents to avoid this brand in the future. Last edited by Michael; 07-24-2012 at 04:05 PM. |

I also hate the Pampers wipes but for some reason my husband loves them! I just tried Kroger brand wipes & they're no good either. I'm sticking to Huggies wipes forever, lol

Where they left in a diaper bag maybe or somewhere maybe where there was a dirty diaper and they absorbed the smell?

I started supplying wipes myself because I hated some of the brands people were bringing in!! I figured out it costs me maybe $1 a day to provide wipes and its a tax deduction. Worth it to use the Huggies that I like best!!!!

if you supply the wipes, what do you do if you have a child that is allergic to the type that you provide? I am considering supplying my own wipes but dont want to have to buy specific ones for each different child...

And, it's never come up yet. I use Target unscented and they are about as hypoallergenic as you're going to get. I think a child who is allergic to wipes is likely reacting to the additives or perfumes in the scented ones. |

Walmart's Parent Choice wipes are actually very similar to Huggies wipes and they are a great cost. I buy a huge box of 700 wipes (7 packs) for a little over 11.00. They are awesome and they don't smell bad. I can't stand the Pamper's wipes. I don't understand why anyone would want to use them...or anything that is just as thin.
Somehow I ended up with all boys in my daycare and they poop A LOT. The last thing I want is to drag my nails through their poop constantly. I save all my plastic grocery bags and bag up all the poopy diapers as I change them before they go in the trash. I put the diaper in the bag twist it and shove it through again and tie the handles. I take them out periodically during the day because even still it will smell sometimes but it's not as bad at least. I have one of those wooden 9 cube Closetmaid shelving units and each child has their name labeled on their own cubby. This is where I keep their diapers and wipes. The ones who have the same diapers I just put their initial on each diaper incase they happen to get moved or mixed up somehow. This way I don't short anyone. I have a small trash can that I keep near or on top of it. The top 3 cubes have the fabric box drawers... each are labeled. One is for spare clothes. (Each child has a bag with their change of clothes.) The second is for diaper creams and sunscreen, ect., and the third is for my plastic grocery bags. I just change their diapers on the floor in front of it. It's been a task training them to stay out of the diapers and wipes but for the most part it's lost it's appeal. |

After 25 years in the buisness I always go back to Huggies. I have tried every kind of wipe. (even makiung my own)Everytime a new one comes out I try it. Pampers are too thin and Krogers are not as long as Huggies so I spend a bit more and buy huggies. I do use coupons most of the time and get the price down but for 25 years I have been using Huggies.

We were flying through wipes so I have been experimenting with making my own. I came up with the idea while camping with my family, and we were using my homemade spray cleaner as hand wash (spray on, then dry hands).
My licensing specialist said it wasn't important what I used as a solution, just as long as the "wipe" itself was new. I've made a very gentle solution (water with a couple drops of organic non-toxic soap+2 drops sweet orange oil) and put it into spray bottles. I spray it onto a paper towel before use, and we're good to go! I keep so few kids, 3 max, that it's a good solution here, but I can see how that might be more of a pain with a bigger group. I remember when I took babies there was one brand of wipes (I can't remember which one) that made me want to throw up! They were horrible! I would tell parents not to bring that brand.

I love the Walmart wipes. I cannot stand the Target ones, they are so flimsy!
