Default DCG Always Cold?

DCG is thin as a noodle and lately is always complaining of being cold. She's tired a lot of the time, too, both of which lead me to think her iron might be low. Would you mention these things to her parents and suggest they get it checked out?

I would mention it, and also start feeding her food with more iron in it too. I have a kid who (he's 4) eats dirt, sand, rocks...well I did some digging and its a sign of low iron too.

Thank you, that's kind of what I was thinking. I think I'll mention it to dcd tonight or tomorrow.

please do mention it! This was me as a kid, and I wasn't diagnosed until I was 12. I have severe anemia, and am STILL on prescription strength iron and other vitamins. Even with that, when it goes below 60 I pull out the jeans and sweatshirts.

I did mention it tonight. I asked dad if she complains of being cold at home and he said, "Oh, yeah, all the time. " And I todl him, "I wwas wondering, because she does here, too, and she's tired so much too. It occurred to me that her iron could be low. You may want to take her to the doctor and get that checked out." And he seemed really receptive, so I hope something good comes of it.
