I have a 6 year old dcg who went in to use the bathroom and came out saying she had an accident. I went to get her change of clothes and she said "I didn't know the lid was down, so I peed on it!" There was pee sprayed everywhere! On the seat, down the outside of the toilet, on the diaper genie, all over the floor, on the mats on the floor, etc. In my 12 years of providing care in my home I have never had a child not only not realize that the lid to the toilet was down, but then go on to sit down and pee continuously until they are done going. WOW!! Never a dull moment when working with kids....... Anybody else ever have this happen to them?

No, but I do have a toddler potty seat built into my regular toilet seat lid and I have on several occasions went to sit down and use the toilet myself to find I have sat on the potty seat. Of course, I fix the issue before actually going but I can see how your situation happened.
I've got 40 yrs on the child and I still have issues now and then.

Probably being a normal child they wait too long, rush in at the last minute and boom....it happened and there was no stopping it then. 
My sweet 4 yo ran into the bathroom, then hollered for me. She had peed all through everything right on the side; she had like inches to go. It happens.

A friend of mine, when we were kids, played a joke once and saran wrapped his toilet. His sister went later on and didn't realise it was sealed until it was too late. That was funny, but of course his parents made him clean up.
Never a dull moment is one reason I want to go into the business.
Hopefully not too many of that kind of dull moment though.

I haven't had the seat down problem . But I once had a 5/6 year old dcb pee allover my bathroom . I swear it was worse than a dog marking his territory .

I have children frequently peeing all over my half bathroom when they wait until the last minute to go to the restroom. It fills the entire floor.
In fact, this just happened 20 minutes ago. A napper ran to the restroom, didn't make it in time, and peed all over the stool, floor, her clothing, etc.
