Ugh! DCG didnt come fed and screamed all through getting breakfast for the toddlers, I then went to get her a bottle and no bottles in the bag! I have bottles here but medium and fast flow nipples. No slow ones anymore as I donated them. They are also not Dr Brown Bottles which is what this DCG uses. Mom works 1.5 hours away...feeding should be interesting today. She already is a challenge trying to get her to eat in the first place. She was not happy the nipple I have here is medium.

Guess mom will be leaving a bottle here from now on.

Ugh!! So sorry Breezy! I have had that happen too. I now require the parents of ALL infants to purchase and leave at daycare a bottle with two nipples. I NEVER want to be in that situation again as it is hard.

Is there anyone who can run to the store and purchase one for you or can you?

Good luck with the day....hope all goes well for you.

I was considering going after my first DCG leaves at 11:30. I wont have room in my car for all the carseats before then. I also text mom to let her know and told her DCG is not happy about it.

I have all of my parents keep 3 bottles and an extra can of formula here at all times.

I pick up a few jars of baby food on hand, too.

I require two bottles to be left at daycare. Anymore then that and I have too much clutter to look out for. I find two works great. Three if a parent likes to take a bottle on the run home- sometimes they ask, because they are not going straight home or whatever

Maybe a friend, or relative could make a store run for you- I would probably ask the parent to reimburse me for this, as it is doing her a favor. The bottle would be staying after that--- UGH!

What was Moms reaction?

If you have no way to feed her, call the parent now. She won't forget next time. Sorry Marge your going to have to bring me a bottle. I don't have one here that she will take and I need to be able to feed baby adorable. I have no way to get a hold of one. Maybe the mom has a friend that can pick one up and drop it off or a relative- You can't work with out the supplies you need and its the parents job to supply them. I would make sure for now on that you have bottles left at daycare along with any other supplies you need. Choice is hers, bring you a bottle or come pick up your child. I can't and refuse to work this way-

DCG barely ate any formula all day which is nothing new really. Barely ate anything actually including the baby food. Just pushed it all away.

Anyway, I let DCD know all this at pick up and that mom brought no bottles and he said well I guess youll have a bottle when you get home then huh? To DCG.

I guess make it a habit to check the bag BEFORE they leave baby with you. No bottles, no stay.

I tell my parents this is the child's second home. They need back up clothes formula bottles, etc just in case of an emergency. If the parent had a wreck on the way home and i had the kid over night I would need what ever they would have at home to accomodate the child. I make the bottles each morning anyways but i require an extra can of formula here in case of an emergency. And yes this actually happened to me. A parent did have a wreck, it was closing time and they weren't here and the baby was hungry. This is where I got the idea from. I also had one get stuck out of town one day as well and i had the baby late into the night so I just get prepared.

That stinks! I dont do the diaper bag thing. I require extra clothes, 2 bottles and all diapers creams etc to be dropped off here and left here. That way if something runs out it is nobodys fault but my own. I don't have time to be messing with each kids diaper bags everyday either.

Ditto. I hate having all those darn bags around, besides you never know what parents keep in them besides the baby's things. Before I changed my policy (years ago) I found some interesting things in diaper bags...as did the other dc kids at times.

But that is a whole separate thread

Same here. It's even in my handbook - NO DIAPER BAGS!

Yeah shes the only one that brings a diaper bag and the carseat plus base. And a cooler with all the food. And it all STINKS. Not sure if its their laundry detergent or what but its just a nasty smell. Carseat is disgustigly dirty with food crusted to it. Bleh

And the screamer belongs to her?

I had a friend that lived with her mom and her and her kid always smelled. Not like Bo, didn't bathe. But like their house stunk. Turns out gramma was a hoarder. Is it possible her temperament, eating issues, being a preemie etc are a result of the parents lifestyle? A filthy car seat is really telling.

Edited to add: said friends kid would never eat unless it was fast food. Hed never really had a sit down meal because the kitchen was so filthy it was unusable.

Hmmm, well I do know that when I have said something like "Excuse the mess, DS has been playing like crazy this morning" when there are toys on the floor at drop off or pick up. She says stuff like "Oh you should see how our living room looks. There are always toys on the floor we just leave them"

There was also a time when we had pizza for dinner and DCD picked up around 6-7pm and he said thats what they have 3 or 4 times per week.

And yes the screamer does belong to her.

No bottles with a baby that won't take my spare bottles I keep on hand would have been an immediate pick up. Baby needs to eat.

No diaper bags here wither- too much of a liability. People keep too many dangerous things in it- medicines, alcohol based hand sanitizer, etc.

Does the baby eat pizza.

No, she only eats pureed baby food, and finger foods like goldfish, puffs, and cherrios. And formula of course.
