The short version is 2 different daycare parents pulled their oldest children out to go to the fancy preschool.
Child 2 lasted 3 months before mom pulled.
Child 1 lasted 4 months before mom pulled.
Child 2 I have after school because I have their sibling in care. Child 2 goes to a preschool close to my house-started there in Jan. Mom's considering pulling. The preschool has been through 5 lead teachers since September.
Child 1's family contacted me but I don't have what they want so they chose to go elsewhere.

Honestly, it sounds like these families want a lot of fancy for nothing. I mean you leave for free preschool, and you get what free pays for.

I think the parents will have a hard time grasping the reality that fancy or not, all of the preschool kids are learning what they should be learning for their age. I mean there is a exception if a child has a high IQ but that usually is discovered a little later after preschool. I hope that you have found new clients who recognize the care you give their kids

I have
I have a great core group of appreciative parents. There's one family who will jump ship as soon as they find something that works better for them (read: fewer policies.) and another family who is hoping to get into the free preschool this coming year. But generally I have a good group of kids and parents right now. Business growth has been phenomenal these past 3 years and this year is looking to be a great year for growth as well. Eventually it will level out then I can aim for a more realistic growth of 2-3% a yr but for now I'm just socking that extra money from the business growth away for the lean times.

It is gracious of you to be willing to accept any of them back.
I would not.
That's a shame.
I've had 4 families leave for a few months and come back in the past (all 2 day families and all said due to finances). All left again within a few months because those same finances were still stretched thin. Unfortunately, because of those experiences I don't believe anyone wishing to return actually wishes to remain enrolled long term and that is difficult to work with for me.
If you choose to re-enroll one of the families I hope that they actually appreciates you and remain enrolled until that child goes to kinder.
