Daycare Center and Family Home Forum>Starting Up Again and Need Ideas!

Hi everyone!
After closing and having some time off, I've opened up again. I realized that I really enjoy being my own boss, and working at home.
So, I need some ideas with a couple of things that I struggle with. First is dinner for my own family. Lately, we haven't been eating until 7:30. I need to get organized with meal prep and shopping. Second is organizing all the extra daycare stuff. I've got the toys and books pretty well organized. It's the other stuff, extra outfits, diapers, wipes, blankets and nap cots. I have my living room and a playroom I use for daycare. I could redo a coat closet and maybe use it for the extra stuff.
Look forward to your ideas!

Prep enough lunch so there's enough left over for your family for supper.

YES! I prep them, put them in freezer bags, and pull them out to thaw overnight. I use her plans (the first 2 at least): http://www.laurengreutman.com/aldi-s...ker-meal-plan/

For organization of the little things can you get one of those cube organizers? They sell pretty cheaply at Walmart and come in all sorts of cute exteriors. We just bought rustic wood looking ones for our daughter's playroom. I know a lot of folks on here use them for their cubbies and with some bins in the cube parts you'd never really know they were storing children's belongings.

I also second crock pot meals - they are a life saver most nights.

I usually make enough leftovers and that is what the children and I have for lunch the following day. So dinner is fresh and lunch is planned leftovers.

For organization I use three main things:

Toy and other DC storage - CUBES! They are the best Also a note on the cubes, they are stackable. If you don't have a lot of floor space, don't be afraid to go up. Once you anchor it to the wall it is good to go.

For nap time storage, I use the kindermats with built in pillows. I supply a fleece blanket and the sheets are body pillow cases. All of this fits in those plastic drawers you can get at walmart, target, etc.

For diapers, extra clothes and other things not often used I have one of those pantry cabinets. Each child has a shelf that has their diapers, wipes, sunscreen, diaper cream, etc. Extra clothes are stored in a one gallon size baggie and a velcroed to the side of the cabinet.

I also have a couple of shelves with baskets. Right now I shlef above our circle rug that has a paint basket, circle time basket, play dough basket and random small art supply basket. And a shelf above my desk that has office supplies. Extra paper, ink, laminator, etc.

Btw, anything that is DC related is stored in the playroom. It really helps with separation at the end of the day.

Thanks for the ideas!
I did a crockpot beef and veggie soup that turned out really good. I will definitely be using my crockpot more.
I'm headed to walmart and target to look at the cube organizers. We will see what i find.
