What information would you put in them?

I want to build a website, but I don't want to put too much personal information in it. Just enough to make someone call me.

What is the "must haves" for a website?

What about a Craigslist ad?

I have info about my program, my childcare philosophy, my overall goal for my business. I have a partial exerpt from my contract, I have pics of my house and play areas/yard but NOT pics of the front of the house from the street so no ID there. I do have a short bio about my family but no names or anything. And I have my business email address for people to contact me.

Website-YES! Craigslist-NO! I tried Craigslist, once, and received zero serious inquiries, just creepy weird calls/emails. Avoid Craigslist. Weebly has GREAT website building stuff and its FREE! In your website, address your training, credentials, accreditations, curriculum and anything else you can think of that makes you special and different.

I built a weebly site and I use it for my current families to see what we are up too, lunch menus, etc. I have my handbook on there too. BUT, I have it password protected, all but the first page. The first page has a pic of kids playing in my backyard, but no faces, or identifying details of where I live. It has my city, but that's it and a brief description of my daycare. There is a link to email me but it doesn't show my email. EVERYTHING else is password protected, and my families only have the password. If a potential client that I am interested in/feel good about is considering daycare here, then I will give them the password so they can see all the other info. It's great, I love my site. The only catch is I had to pay a fee for the ability to lock it... but it is a tax deduction, so I'm okay with that.

Here's my website http://gigglepatch.webstarts.com/

I use craigslist when i have openings and have had great luck with it. In fact, it's the only advertising I use now aside from word of mouth.

I've had my website for about six months and I am very much proud of it. My potential clients always pay compliments about it, which I love!

Thanks you'retooloud and sunflowermama! I had fun building the site, weebly makes it so very easy!!

and sunflowermama, our lot is 10,000 sq ft, a blessing and a curse!! It's a great area for the kids to play and run in but we spend A LOT of time on the weekends tending to the yard!! Especially my husband who works really hard to make sure that our gardens and our grass are cared for with totally organic products to keep the kids safe.

I use Craigslist all the time! It's great to get your name out there. You don't have to advertise an opening, use it to get your name out there. I've only used Craigslist and referrals and I stay at capacity all the time!

freewebs.com also has a great website builder.

Definitely not doing well in the math department.

It's cheaper to do a daily rate at ten dollars a day than a weekly rate at 60 week.

Oh and I think it's "grammar" I am a horrible speller.

Funny, as a kid I put in an ad for yardwork at 1 penny a minute. I got lots of calls and worked my a$$ off with made little money. That ended real quick. Great marketing but zero foresight.
