My handbook only states I will charge $5 for being late. It doesn't state it's $5 for every ____ amount of time. I've never had an issue with someone being late until now so I need to change my policy!

Mine states that I charge $2/minute, beginning at 5:31. It is very rare that anyone is late!

$5 per every 15 minutes or any portion of 15 minutes .

ex . 10 minutes =$5 , 17 minutes =$10.

Though at the times I needed to charge the $5 does not seem enough to make the offender care .

Typically $10 per day that it's late. I just had one mom rack up $200 in late fees. She was warned that this was the ONLY time it will be waived. Next time I'm charging her. $200 late fees on a $20 daycare fee?... Works for me!

Oops! I see you meant late picking up not paying! $1 for every minute late starting 4 minutes after contracted pick up time(I allow a few minutes for traffic etc since I live in the city)

First late pick up = $1 per minute (and probably a little less "friendly" interaction)

Second late pick up = $2 per minute (and the cold shoulder for a few days)

Third late pick up = Immediate termination. I refuse to work with families that don't respect my time.

NO amount of money is worth keeping clients that don't respect me or my family's time.

Providers who charge per 15 min increments, do you find that they use the entire 15 minutes? I always assumed they would....if it's the same price for one minute as it is for 15 minutes, why not run one more errand kid-free?

I charge $10 for the first 10 minutes (or any part there of), then it goes to $1 per minute starting at 11 minutes after closing.

For me, our traffic can often be horrible so I really don't mind the occasional minute or two late (with a text or call of course). I don't want to charge a dollar here and there. But more than a couple of minutes then yep you will be paying me for my time, so it's $10 any part of that first 10 minutes.

I charge a $20 inconvenience fee per child for being late or showing up early without prior approval. I also charge $1 per minute per child for the late fee. I have a sibling set that has been picked up late twice. They were 45 minutes late. So it was a late fee of $45 per child plus the inconvenience fee. They had to pay me $130 in late fees. The parent was shocked that I was actually going to enforce it. The second time they were late they called at the time they should have been picking up to tell me they were late. I told them I'm aware and that late fees were adding up pretty fast. They weren't late again after.
