So mom comes in with 2 yr old dcb today. He starts walking into the living room (kitchen and living room right off my entrance). I say "Junior, stay on the rug until your shoes are off." She says oh they're not snowy and wet, I carried him in. Then she walks the 3 feet to my table to put his cup down. WITH her shoes on. I should have said, did he carry you in? Stupid!

So rude! I would be putting a sign on the door!

I just can't do passive aggressive and I don't do well with notes or signs as they seem to be either ignored or taken as "suggestions" verses rules so I just point out the mess a parent made and ask them to be more mindful in the future.
Usually pointing it out either makes them aware (yes, some parents are oblivious) or it makes them embarrassed. I'm not trying to make them embarrassed but in all honesty... they should be.

I would have spoken up. "But your shoes ARE wet. It also helps to be consistent with rules for JR. no shoes in the house, despite how dry they are."
