Morning Ladies and Gents.... Sorry if this turns out to be really long but I need advice bc I am being very fed up with Licensing....
So I had my initial inspection on August 18th, I was told they have 30 days to provide the license if everything is approved. So I wanted until the middle of September to contact my specialist and she ended up requesting something from me like my discipline policy ( which she signed off on when she did the inspection) but whatever, I emailed it to her. Then I talked to her again and she tells me she's getting surgery and will be out for 3 weeks but she will give everything to the supervisor.
I spoke to supervisor and she act as if she didn't know what I was talking about but looked into it blah blah blah.... In the end, my specialist returned so now I'm back to her.
Fast Forward, I call these people every other day, my specialist is pretty nice about everything and apologetic and always saying as soon as she hear something she'll let me know When I talk to the supervisor she first acts if she has an attitude until she realize I can go there too and then she makes it seems as if she's on it. Everything is pretty much in her hands. My specialist did all she could do at this point.
Last Wednesday I spoke with the supervisor and asked about my license and looks up the information and says I'm putting things in this morning and will give you a call in the afternoon. Needless to say NO CALL .
I called back to my specialist this Monday and she tells me the supervisor is out for training and she'll let me know something in the afternoon. OF COURSE, NO CALL .
I don't know what else to do, or who else to speak with, I want to go over their heads because they are way over the 30 day limit and all my stuff is in and approved and all I need is a darn license.
Please Help LADIES and GENTS

sorry for this long letter

That sounds awful. I am sorry.

Here they state it can take up to 120 days to be processed one the application is complete How it can possibly take 4 months is beyond me. I am hoping that isn't the case. I will turn in my paperwork mid November (closing on a house next week), so we will see.

I imagine the chain of command is public record. Can you find who the next supervisor is? Have you physically gone to their office. I might camp out there until something real happens.

My good friend was stalled out on her license of a bit. However, she stayed on them. They had a lot of excuses too! She was dealing with Montgomery County.

They specifically states that it will take 30 days. So the games that are being played is beyond me. I'm beyond pissed because I'm at the point where I may just get a job. I want to help out around the house. I have 1 child that comes and the little money helps with my minor credit card bills but I want to get more kids now. I'm going to look into the next supervisor because they are driving me nuts. They literally only owe me the license.. the supervisor has to just put it in the computer and print it. HOW HARD IS IT LADY is what I want to yell at her. I thought about going there next.

It just seems really crazy, it makes me want to move to another state or into the county just so I don't deal with these mean people. They answers the phones with such attitudes as if you're bothering them and this isn't their job. I keep saying to myself I hope this isn't want I have to look forward to after I am licensed.

My understanding from other state licensed providers, once you get licensed it isn’t too bad. Most of the inspectors are more than fair and professional.

At least they got your package… I have to do another one.

I would camp out. Pack a lunch. Go determined to leave with that license in hand.

They sound very understaffed, as is the case with most state run human resource type jobs. But that's not helping you. The only bright side I can see to this is that, once you're licensed, they'll still be way understaffed so they won't bother you! They'll have a million other things to do.

That's the case here in Alabama. My licensing person, the ONLY licensing person for my County, moved at a snail's pace. But once my license was finally issued (5 long months later) I haven't seen her since. I've been open for 17 months without a single visit.

Gosh this a statewide thing with these people. Hope they work things out with you too.

Where are you located in MD? I am in PGC. I haven't had an issue with licensing (thanks goodness). This is crazy! I hope it gets resolved soon.
