Default WWYD With a 9 Month Old Who Doesn't Nap

At all! He doesn't sleep a wink! He went from a child who was a good happy sleeper to a screamer who doesn't sleep for 1 minute thru the day! I can't deal with him all day without a break! He is my 30+ pounder, and he wants to be held and carted around all day. I just can't do it. Mom has no insight for me. He sleeps about 8 or so hours at night, but forgive me if I am wrong, but don't babies of this age need a lot more sleep than that?! UGH! I am so worn out. This has been going on all this week. The last few weeks he has only slept for about 20 to 30 minutes a day. Now nothing. Anything I can do?! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!

Make sure he is safe in his crib and let him cry himself to sleep. Is there a room farther away from the play area that you can put him in so the noise is minimal? They need at least 12 hours of sleep I think at that age.

Give him a bottle at 8:45, change his diaper and put him down for a nap at 9:00. don't get him out of bed before 10:30 unless his diaper is dirty and full!if you need to change him do it fast, don't make eye contact, don't talk and coo...just change him and put him right back to bed....I always say in a sing song voice "night night I love you X"..at 10:30 or so.....play coo have fun during the next couple of hours. feed him a bottle at 12:45,'change diapers, and put him down from 1:00 to 3:00.
You must remain rigid and dedicated for a couple of weeks. It is hard at first...turn the radio up. If he screams hysterically just a quick visual check to makesure he is ok and back out of the room. The has worked for every single child I have ever watched.
I do have a rule LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE.
If baby isn't awake at 10:30 I won't wake him until 11:00 or so.

Good luck. You can do it. The pay off is wonderful.
