Default What Kind Of Fire Extinguisher Do You Have?

Our licensing says we have to have a class A,B, and C class fire extinguisher. I have a Tundra extinguishing spray... On the actual extinguish spray it list a whole bunch of codes and letters (shows class k and class A and C).. When you look on the company website it says that it is more powerful than just having a Class B one...

My inspection is tomorrow and before I rush out and buy a new extinguisher, I wanted to see what everyone else has?

I just dont want the agent here tomorrow to not pass me because the extinguisher itself does not say it is class b...

please help!

Does it say something like 5-A:10-B:C:K? If it doesn't expressly list B, I would say it's not rated for B class fires. K is for cooking oils and fats, but not for gas fires, etc. K is better than nothing, but it doesn't cover everything that B does.

•Class A - Fire extinguishers with a Class A rating are effective against fires involving paper, wood, textiles, and plastics.

•Class B - Fire extinguishers with a Class B rating are effective against flammable liquid fires. These can be fires where cooking liquids, oil, gasoline, kerosene, or paint have become ignited.

•Class C - Fire extinguishers with a Class C rating are suitable for fires in “live” electrical equipment.

From home depot. It is single use, but inexpensive.

Good luck with your inspection!
