Unhappy Six m/o will NOT stop wailing!

I work in a daycare facility with infants, 6 weeks - approximately 9 months old. New babies can be a challenge, this I know. But usually the transition from home to daycare is pretty painless, where they soon learn that it is louder (other babies crying) and they can't be picked up and held right away when they cry. The ratio in my state is 3 - 1, so it can be hectic, but quite do-able. BUT, for nearly 3 months now, one little one cries all day, (without shedding a tear) every day (literally with the exception of about 15 - 20 minutes) unless eating or sleeping. Sometimes even holding/walking around doesn't work. This, of course, causes the domino effect of more crying babies. Not getting a lot of support from the director as to approaching the parents and looking for solutions. I leave absolutely exhausted every day. The same goes for my co-workers. We are not inexperienced in caring for little ones, but are at our wit's ends because there is nothing we have found to stop the madness!!! I'm seriously thinking of looking for another job, it is that bad

How long has the 6 mo been there? Six months can be a tricky age, since they are awake more, becoming mobile in some degree, and can start going thru seperation anxiety. I think it would definately be worth talking to the parents to see if they are naturally fussy, or whether something could be wrong (ears? teething? some other sickness?) Good luck! This job is NOT for the squeemish!

Maybe too many caregivers? So trouble bonding with any one particular one? Tell me about your room, what lights do you have, fans, what things are plugged in inside your room?
