DC mom wants me to keep her son drugged 24/7

I've posted about this mom several times-her insisting on dcb wearing shoes, her imaginary food allergies that he has, and now about her pain killer addiction.

Ever since dcb started when he was 8 months old, she has said every day that his teeth are bugging him. She used to use Orajel every single day and wanted me to. I never did because of the dangers of it. Now she is telling me that he "lives on Tylenol" and "can't function if it's not in his veins." Every morning she reminds me that he has Tylenol and teething gel in his bag, and that I should rotate those every couple hours.

Of course I don't...I actually don't give him anything while he's here because he needs a break from it. Is this something that needs to be reported to a professional that can tell her straight? I try telling her facts and she blows them off.

Is she not aware of the long term affects of Tylenol useage?!?

I changed my med rule a few years ago that I do NOT ever. ever. ever. medicate a child while in my care because I do not want the liabilty. If they are so bad they need any meds, then stay home with them. I will not give any meds for any reason.

I am still going to the amount and frequency of medication she wants to give her child!!

....and yeah, I would seriously think about reporting this to your licensor.

Tell her no and that she isn't allowed to keep him on daily tylenol. It's dangerous and reportable.

This research doesn't even mention the extreme liver damage caused by NSAIDs -- which are anti-inflammatory drugs.

Yesterday I had a prenatal appt with my midwife, and she asked how it went. I told her it went well. She said I'm crazy for wanting to go through labor without drugs and that I won't make it. I told her I did it fine with my son and it was such a great experience. She rolled her eyes and said "well if I can get drugs for anything I'm getting them."

He usually gets really cranky after being here a few hours. Possible from the Tylenol wearing off from the morning dose that she gave him? I'm going to call my licensing lady and ask her opinion.
