What Do You Call Yourself-Part 2

So the last couple of weeks there was the discussions on what do you call yourself for the profession of childcare. Some said Babysitter, Childcare Provider, Teacher, etc.

Most of us work for ourselves and own our own businesses. Well, I ran into something very interesting this weekend and wondered if anyone else has done this and what did you do.

Working on scholarship forms for a child and the question arose-Mom, what do you do for a living? Aka-what do you call your profession?

For those that have done this did you put childcare provider, business owner, babysitter or .......?

I also thought for when you fill out your taxes for those that call yourselves babysitters is that what you put on your tax forms? Do you put that on all forms that require your work status?

Just wondering if putting Owner of Childcare Facility would look ok to put on a scholarship form or exactly what would be correct. Child thought putting Child Development Specialist would be lovely-you develop children into what they are going to be mom!

My answer for all the questions is "daycare provider". That's what I put on my tax forms, gov't forms and anything requiring I list an occupation. It's also what I tell people I do for a living.

I like the specialist, but would be leary to use for me since I dont have all the training or degrees to be called that, but if you do I would use that!

Thats what I thought also, but my husband has it in his title and he never went to school or has any special training. He will tell you he does alot of paper pushing. Actually he does alot of customer service in his job with alot of paperwork and has been at his job almost a year but has the specialist in his job title.

I'm an S-corp. I am the President.

I learned I got turned down for credit (for new AC unit, all new ductwork) when I listed "Childcare Provider" as my job title but when I listed Owner/Operator I was approved.

Same company, 6 months later, no income increase/minimal debt reduction.

I don't know why, it just is. Same SS#, address, income, etc....

Self-Employed Childcare Provider
