Default Should Have Known....

I tweaked some areas of my contract last week and told parents I needed the filled out forms back no later than this morning. Everybody had theirs back yesterday or before....except THAT parent. That's right...the one with 6 kids. I called last night to remind her that the kids couldn't stay this morning unless I had the forms. She said she'd bring them.

The doorbell rings this morning. Here are the kids on the doorstep. I look up to see Mom racing off in her car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She always comes to the door, so I know it was deliberate.

It just happens that her ex was dropping off his son. He heard me call after her. He shoved the baby through the door and told me he'd get her back!!!

So a few minutes later, a very red-faced woman arrives back at the day care and admits she forgot the papers. It was hard, but I ushered all the kids back out the door and told her they could be here when the paperwork was here.

I could tell she wasn't happy about loading six kids back in her vehicle, but I am so tired of her expecting special favors because she has that many.

She drove home, got the forms and brought them and the kids back to me.

I don't think she'll try that again.......

Sorry, but this is so funny. I am laughing so hard. I can see x chasing her down, with horn going off and neighbors looking out the doors. And the x is like....this is SOOO fun! Then he is bringing her back..tailing her all the way...I am laughing so hard again!

Then she has to put not 1 but 6 kids back into the car. I can hear all the kids asking what is going on and the mom talking under her breath..

GOOD FOR YOU!! I am PROUD OF YOU!!

I think he probably loved flagging her down and telling her to get her butt back to the day care!

I'm expecting to see him with a big grin this evening when he comes to get the baby!!!

I'll let you know what the ex says when I see him tonight. He knew what it must have been about because of the notice I have had on the door all this week. I'm itching to know what exactly he said to her!

He hates the woman so I'm sure it wasn't just a friendly reminder!

Hey! You leave Gerard alone! Don't you know?! He left THAT woman with the six kids for me . The baby is his and mine's love child. He's MINE!!

Back to OP, you go! Looks like you have someone on your side! It's always easier when you have a sidekick helping you out.

Default Ya know what?

That kind of stuff really irritates me.

I have 6 kids, and unless you have a large unexpected litter of children overnight, you realize by about the third one that you have to be a little more prepared and a little more organized to keep a large family on track than you did when you were childless or had one or two kids. This requires getting up a few minutes earlier, doing a thing or two the night before, and making yourself a list once in a while.

I hate it when other moms with big families pull the "but I have 6 kids" card.

I wish that other moms with big families would get themselves together and stop using the big family ticket as an excuse for what's really going on-they are just flaky and/or disorganized. Seriously, unless she has a set of 2 year old triplets and a set of 1 year old triplets, it's not that hard. Come on!
