Default Bossy Child

I care for three children (besides my own 2) Well, my daughter is the oldest of all the children and she is always "imitating" me and in a way I think trying to help me by bossing all the other children around. She always tells them what to do and what not to do.
I tell her thank you but that I am the boss so she can not tell the others what to do.

Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this and what has helped?

You need to let her know that the parents would not appreciate her telling the other kids what to do.

I had an incident where my then 7 yo dd told me that she and the provider's daughter had to spank a 3 yo who wouldn't mind them.

I have a little boss here too. It started when I told her she needed to talk to the other kids about what they do to her. For example she'd come tell me that kid pushed her. I'd tell her to tell kid she doesn't like being pushed. Well it morphed into being the boss all the time and telling the other kids what not to do even with me standing right there letting them do it. I just tell her to stop being bossy and stress that she can tell the kids to stop doing something mean to her but to leave the rest of their behaviors to me. She's getting it but it takes time and reinforcement. I never thank her for correcting the behavior of another child. I simply stress that it was to have been my job not her's.
