Default Where's Your Diaper Pail?

So I am in the process of redoing my daycare room..It is small, and some of you have seen pics. I have the changing table, toys, and everything else in one room. I have always had the diaper pail in there beside the changing table..But changing 3 kids diapers several times a day so it gets stinky !! I was moving stuff around today and thought about how unsanitary it really is to have it in there. I mean it does have a lip, I keep it clean on the outside..but where else could I put it. So where do you keep your diaper pail ? Or do you have your changing table in a seperate room..I really have nowhere else to put it.
Thanks ~Manda

Laundry room with a sink nearby. Suggest a Diaper Genie if you are worried about unsanitary conditions.

Separate room.

You could do away with the changing table entirely and have a basket of diapering supplies, including a pad to put on the floor under them, that you pull out. Have a bag of plastic bags (small trash can liners or grocery store bags or whatever) in the basket that you put all the diapers and wipes into, then after you change them each time you can tie the bag up and drop in out the front door/back door/garage/whatever.

This is what I do. I have a plastic hook that sticks to the wall above my changing table (it can actually hold a lot and is very handy). I pull out a new grocery bag for each change. When I'm done I tie it shut and toss it in the garage. My table is in the nap room and I don't like the idea of them sleeping in the same room as a full diaper pail. Sanitary and cheap!

I use a diaper pad changing mat on rge floor for each kid and I always wear gloves.

I have a small can placed under my bathroom sink.
When I'm done changing the diaper I turn the gloves inside out over the diapers and then put them in the trash can under the sink.

The doors under the sink have finger locks on them and the foot stool gets placed in front of the doors as well.

Never have smells and it's emptied at the end of each day.

I tie each one in a grocery bag and toss it in the big can outside. I can't stand the smell in the house for even 5 minutes.

My daycare space is my living room, where my front door is. I have a small garbage can just outside my front door on my porch. When it gets full, I change the bag and toss the full one in my trash cans.

I got rid of the diaper pail years ago. Diaper genies would work but those refills are too expensive. I use the Munchkin bag holder thingy...

the 3 pack of refills is $3.99 so I buy that sometimes or just use grocery bags when I run out. Then they go right in my regular garbage.

Mine is right out side my door in the garage. I used to have it in the laundry room but I always felt my home smelled like a dirty diaper.

I wrap the diapers in a grocery store bag and then throw them in a sealed container right outside the back door.
I have a friend that does daycare that does not have access to outside while still maintaining supervision. She has a window that she can open in the daycare area and has an outside container to throw the diapers out in.

My changing table has a tall cabinet door to it where I keep my diaper genie. But I don't buy the refills. It's pointless! So I put a plastic grocery bag in there. I don't notice a smell at all. If I did, I'd take the bag outside and change it out.

Default diaper pail

I use gloves to change then turn the glove inside out over the diaper and it never smells, i put in right in my regular garbage. The gloves are an excellent smell barrier!!

This is a smart idea. You must buy your gloves in bulk at Costco or it could get expensive.

Im anther one who uses plastic grocery bags. I have green bags, too, but I switch to the plastic when I am running low.

I have a door right next to my changing table, with an over-the-door double hook on it. I keep the plastic bags in an old beach bag type thing. When I need to change a diaper, I pull one out, put it on the other hook, and then put the stinky right in it. Then it goes in the kitchen garbage if it's almost full, or right outside (in the winter in WI, they become poopy stinky ice bombs).

When I worked at a center that is what we done with the gloves..It does help alot. For type B in Ohio you are not required to wear gloves, which I haven't but I think I am going to buy a box I also have little smell good diaper bag things...lol But I still have a strong diaper smell when I open the diaper pail lid
I hate yucky diaper smells !! lol

to save money on gloves, I only use them when the kids poop. I buy them in a mass quantity so that I save a ton of money.

I went to my local medical supply company and told them what I do and if they would be willing to sell me them at cost if I ordered enough. They did and it came out to less than$3.35 a box. I use two boxes a month and it's a write off...

I send them Starbucks and chocolates at Christmas time, they love me...lol
