Default Halftime/Fulltime

How many hours a day/week/month do you consider 1/2 time?

How many hours a day/week/month do you consider fulltime?

If a parent needs a day/week where they will go into full time how do you charge them for that?

Especially if you do a flat rate for billing? Also how would you change this if you are using MM for billing?

3 set days is p/t and they have to be set if they rotate they need a f/t opening

4 days at the p/t rate is the same as my f/t rate so they often go f/t so they can come for preschool that day

Part time is anything less than 5 hours per day or 2 full days per week.

I do part time: 5-30 hours, full time 30-50 hours. Anything 0-5 hours is considered "babysitting" and is charged higher.

I don't do half days, so that makes it easier for me.

Part time care is 3 or fewer days a week and is billed at $120/week flat rate.
Full time care is 4 or more days a week and is billed between $150-200/week flat rate depending on the contracted hours (child that's picked up at 3pm daily is $150...child that's picked up at close is $200/week).

I don't charge by the day or by the hour. I always have a contract assigning a weekly flat rate. If a parttimer wishes to use 4 days in one week then they would pay the full time flat rate geared to their pick up time.

I charge by the hour but thinking of going to a flat day rate. Here are my families and times.

My part-timers I think are the ones that hang me up the most.

FULLTIMERS

DCF #1=6:30-3:45 (sometimes till 4:30/4;45)
DCF #2=7:30-4:15/4:30
DCF#3=7:45-5:15/5:30

PART-TIMERS

DCF#4=6:45-5:00-one day a week (two other days 6:45-2;00)(Sometimes a
fourth day with variable hours)

DCF#5=8;15-2:45-Four days a week(sometimes needs me till 4:45)(Some
weeks needs me a fifth day)

This is why sometimes when I have the kids more I make way more money because of charging by the hourly rate.

If I were to go to a flat rate I would do a flat rate per day, no less then 3 days. I'm not sure though if I want to mess with part-time rate though because of all the fluctuating hours. My two part-times both need me about 24-26 hours but if they need the extra hours it automatically bumps them into full time. If I were to do a flat rate per day then they could add the extra days without their rate changing but just add an extra day on. Hope that makes sense.

So do you think it fair to charge my part-timers the same as my full-timers?

Full-time care- Child can be in care a maximum of 10 hours a day and no more than 50 hours a week. Rate: $***.**/week per child

Part-time care- Child can be in care a maximum of 10 hours a day and no more than 25 hours a week. Rate: $**.**/week per child.

Not sure how to help you with the varying schedules you have though. I do know that when I went to a flat rate charge I had a huge load taken off my shoulders.
