Default Hi new here/rash question

Hi everyone!

I have been lurking for a while and just love all the advise. I have even gotten a little bit of a backbone lol. Yes I know I need a bigger backbone.

I have a question about rashes. I have a 3yr dcg who has developed a rash around her neck, shoulders and chest. The last time she developed this rash I asked mom to take her to the doctors. She did the following morning and told me that she was bringing dcg back after her appt. I told her I would need a doctors note. Well she was not happy. This was a couple of months ago.

She now has that same rash again, the doctors the first time said it was from a virus (strep, turned out she didnt have strep) She now has it again and mom wants to know if she has to keep her home.

She has no other symptoms, no fever, runny nose or anything. I'm thinking it may be an allergic reaction to something.

Anyways what are you policies about rashes? Do you exclude? Must you always have a doctors note?

TIA

Welcome to the forum!
For a rash, I would definitely exclude until I had a note from the Dr.

Is it possible that she wore a new shirt that hadn't been washed?

Welcome.

Children's skin is sensitive and rashes are usually not contagious. If you're certain she isn't contagious, I wouldn't exclude her.

Any rashes and they can't come here, period. the exception would be a minor diaper rash OR a rash that has been confirmed with the doctor to NOT be contagious and they have no other symptoms. when in doubt, exclude

ask her for a doctors note, a quick in and out visit will let you know what it is. Food related? Detergent or soap, perfume, could be anything, but you should know what it is from- your not asking for much, part of having a child, they get sick and they need to go to the doctors-

Thank you sooo much for your replies. Dcg always arrives with freshly washed clean clothes so I don't think it's something unwashed.

It could be a detergent thing. I will tell mom to get it checked out.

Thanks again

By the way I love this forum you guys are very helpfull
