Default What's Your Going Rate??

I recently have been noticing providers charge 25 or more for their services so I feel like i'm really ripping myself off here. I was hoping some of you would post your rates and what the going rate is in your area. I know some people may not want to post this I would just like to get an idea how much people are charging because I feel like i'm not charging enough for what I am worth.

I charge 22.00 a day and then 20.00 per child for families with more than one child... I'm not really sure what the going rates are in my town really I feel wierd calling providers around the area to find this out as well....

Well, it depends on going rates in your area but I'm at $30 a day, two snacks and meal included.

I wouldn't call home providers if you don't feel comfortable, but what about licensed centres? They certainly don't make any secret of their rates. I charge a little more than their rates because I feel I offer more.

I don't charge more for infants because I don't take any children less than 1 year old, and I actually find 1-year-olds to be quite easy compared to older children. :-)

I live about 50 miles south of Nashville...I currently charge $110.00 weekly.
I have one flat fee for everyone. I don't charge more for infants and then drop the price as they age, because I don't ever want to take a cut in pay!

I don't do part-time care (parents can enroll their children part-time, but they have to pay the full time rate).

And I don't give sibling discounts.

I do allow drop in care occasionally if needed..... I charge $30 a day.

it is VERY relative to where you live - and not just the state but the city/area too. I am in NJ, rates here can go from less than $30/day to over $60/day just depending on where in the state you are!!!

I don't do daily rates. The centers in my area charge anywhere from $100-$150/week. I charge a flat rate of $75/week for PT and $125 week for full time. Home providers in my area charge about the same with some really low, but they are illegal and don't do anything with the kids. So I think $125 is reasonable.

I don't change my rates for infants. I provide food for children over 1 and parents provide formula for children over 1. So for me the extra care an infant takes is worth $125, but then the extra food I provide for over one year is worth $125 kwim? So I don't change rates for different age groups.

I also only take one infant.

Full-time $125/week
Part-time $75/week (less than 20 hours/week and no more than 2 days)

Seems to be the going rate in my area yet less than the centers in my area.

5 days a week here (any age) is roughly $160 per week. It can be up to $175 if you need more than 9 hours of care and as little as $140 per week if you need less than 8 hours per day.

I live in a small rural town in Sc. The going rate for centers is $90 for infants and about $80 for preschool. I plan to charge $85 as a flat rate for everyone, to many it may seem cheap but the cost of living here is not as high as other places in the US.

I live in midwest Wisconsin, relatively near Madison, and I charge $130/week for full time and my minimum is $80/week. I don't charge a daily rate anymore, they are contracted for how many days/week they will need and that is what they pay every week. This makes it so much easier to budget when I have some healthcare field parents that are here 3 days one week and maybe 4 or 5 the next. In my area, this seems to be the average price. Some home providers charge quite a bit more, and then some only charge $100/week. Also, I don't charge more for infants, however I don't take part-time infants anymore.

I too live in WI, but further into the country (our county only has 26,000). We have a lot of unregulated providers (aka illegal), and we're a relatively poor county.

Here are my rates this year: (I updated the holidays in June to reflect the rest of the year). BTW, the centers around here charge more than FCC.

2012 RATES

FULL-TIME
$130/week age 2 and under:
$110/week over 2

o A deposit equal to equal to one week’s tuition must be paid at contract signing.
o Payment is to me made in advance on the 1st day of care each week.
o The provider shall receive these paid 2012 Holidays: Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday (if the child is scheduled to be in care for that day).
o ********** will be closed October 4th and 5th, and December 23, 2012 through January 2, 2013 (will reopen January 3). This will be unpaid time off. Any other days off initiated by the provider will be unpaid. Any time off initiated by the child’s family will be paid.

There is a 10 hour per day maximum. Any additional hours will be at the hourly rate.

PART TIME:

Daily:
$28.00/day age 2 and under
$23.00/day age 2 and over

Hourly:
Under 2 $4.00 per hour
Over 2: $3.50 per hour

I will not drop rates once they turn two, my plan is to just consider that as my annual raise.

I charge 100/wk for full time (over 25 hours)
I charge $20 a day for part time at an ongoing minimum of $50/week.

I take infants but I do not charge more for them. For multi child I take off $15 a week so it would be $185 for 2 kids and I have yet to get any inquiries on anything more than 2 kids. Honestly I'd rather not take more than two because if they leave for whatever reason that's that many more spots you have to fill plus you are (understandably) having to give a discount to get them in the door.

I'm in Cali so my rates are substantially higher. Typical around here is $40-$50 a day. I charge $50 a day (I'm on the higher end cause I serve organic food), and $5 a day less for over two but I think I will change that soon.

I'm in MN. I'm only open M-Th. I offer 1-4 day care. I base my rate on hours used. I provide diapers/wipes and serve mostly organic food.

The range can be as follows: Infant Drop-in $46-54/day, 3 days: $125-150, 4 days: $ 140-175. Preschool Drop-in $36-44/day, 3 days $100-130, 4 days $120-150

Basically there is a surcharge for starts earlier than 8am, and a discount for pickups between 3:30-4:30. I have my own 6 yo and 9 yo, so I appreciate smaller numbers before and after school. I also like parents to consider working their hours out together, so their child is benefiting from extra time with mom or dad, and money speaks. This way, families needing fewer hours of care are not subsidizing families who need long hours of care.

I have my rates set up hourly-this is copied right from my website:

Newborn-2 years old
Full-time max 50 hours per week: $250
Part Time max 30 hours per week: $225
Drop In full day: $90

2 years old and up
Full-time max 50 hours per week: $200
Part Time max 30 hours per week: $180
Drop In full day: $70

I am located on the North/West side of Chicago. I decided on hourly because it seemed like there was more of a need for it. I think I might end up changing it to daily, once I get licensed(my rates will go up at that time).
I am on the low end for child care in my area. I had a HARD time deciding my rates. The daycares just west of me (where the neighborhood gets a little rough) the prices are really low but North and ESPECIALLY East of where I am the prices shoot WAY up. There is a daycare just blocks east of where I am weekly full time(thats all they offer) is 450 a week.

2-5 yr olds are here.
Those still in diapers/Pull-Ups can pay $0.50/day to have cloth diapers and cloth wipes supplied by me, used by me, and laundered by me for their child. It saves some of my clients a lot of money.

$33/day for part time
$29/day for full time

6 part timers
7 full timers
10 spots taken daily (I can have 12)

Chicago here I come!

The going rate in my city for home daycares is $100-$115. My current rates for infants up to 18 months are $150/week and 18+ months are $135/week.

I provide all organic food which is the reason for the high tuition. My rates will be raising by $15 a week come January and I'm pretty in-demand in my city. Quality daycare isn't cheap and my daycare parents know that

Yeah, it's nice to have a higher pay but it's so expensive out here. We have a very small rental house and we pay 1500 a month, and we are getting n awesome deal because our landlord loves us. Most other houses around here go for 2000 and up. Add all the other higher priced things and I think it usually evens out.

Children under age 2, full time rate is $40/day paid for a weekly rate of $200. Children under age 2, part time rate is $45, for a minimum weekly rate of 3 days/$135. Children age 2-4 full time rate is $35/day paid for a weekly rate of $175. Children age 2-4 part time rate is $40, for a minimum weekly rate of 3 days/$120. Children age 5+ are taken on a case by case basis, with preference to the older siblings of children in my care. Before and/or after school, paid for a weekly rate of $75. Half days of school are an additional $5/day. Breaks and summer are $30/day paid for a weekly rate of $150.

I will have one opening in early sept when a dcg ages out. I am on the high end in my area ($15 illegal-$35 center) but serve mostly organic, use a curriculum and my parents know how awesome (and worth every .01) I am

I charge $50 a day, so $250 a week.
This is for a full time spot. I don't do part time.
It doesn't matter the age, a spot is a spot.
I also don't do sibling discounts.

I live in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago and here are my charges...

Infants or part-time children (Under 3 days a week)
$50/day (hours from 7am-5:30pm)

18 months + & Full time children
$45/day

Before & After school - Kindergarten (on & off bus, before & after school)
$35/day

I called around to centers, and home daycares in my area and this is competitive. I serve breakfast, lunch & afternoon snack.

I charge $140 a week regardless of age. No sib discounts. CCRR just sent out the county averages and I think I am about right for preschool age, but on the lower side for infant/toddler.

I'm in southwest Ohio & I charge $125/wk for full time no matter the age. I consider full time to be anything over 30 hours/wk. I do give a discount for siblings, so I charge $200/wk for 2 full time kids. They pay me each Friday for the week in advance, and they pay every week no matter what...unless I have requested a personal day off, there is no charge for that. They pay me when they're on vacation & they pay me 50% of the weekly rate to hold their spot during a maternity leave.

Anything under 30 hours/wk is part time & that rate is $5 an hour per child.

I do the food program as well, so I provide the snacks, meals, milk, baby food, etc.

I originally started out almost 9 years ago charging $100/wk for full time. I've only raised my rates twice in all that time. The 1st time when I raised rates to $110/wk no one said anything, but the last time when I raised them to $125/wk, I had one parent who wasn't very happy. They stayed & continued to pay though, so I don't know why they thought it was a problem.

I just became certified with the county & the rates I'll get paid through them are WAY higher than what I charge private pay families. I was surprised by that. I had no idea what the going rates were for county providers.
