Special Requirements to Prevent Child Abuse and/or Neglect
EC (a) For early childhood programsx "early childhood programs:supervision
on vehicle", the following shall apply:
- When seven or more children who are 2 ½ years of age or older
are being transported, there shall be one adult in addition to the driver
who remains in the vehicle when it is in motion, and who remains within sight
of the vehicle when it has stopped to accept or discharge children, from the
time the first child is picked up until the last child has reached his or
her destination.
- I/T 2. When between four and 12 children who are below 2 ½ years
of age are being transported, there shall be one adultx "infant/toddler
programs:supervision on vehicle" in addition to the driver who remains
in the vehicle when it is in motion, and who remains within sight of the vehicle
when it has stopped to accept or discharge children, from the time the first
child is picked up until the last child has reached his or her destination.
- When 13 or more children who are below 2 ½ years of age are
being transported, there shall be two adults in addition to the driver who
remain in the vehicle when it is in motion, and who remain within sight of
the vehicle when it has stopped to accept or discharge children, until fewer
than 13 children remain, at which time one adult in addition to the driver
shall remain until the last child has reached his or her destination.
