IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULES

DIVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH BUREAU OF DISEASE PREVENTION

The following schedules for the immunization of infants and children are adapted from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Committee on Infectious Diseases (AAP) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice of the United States Public Health Service (ACIP). The recommendations presented are designed to achieve a uniform and predictable vaccine response; however, the Division of Public Health recognizes that individual circumstances may warrant decisions differing from the recommendations given here.

B. Children not starting immunization in the first year of life.

By virtue of the fact that a child has received no immunization at this point in his or her life, efforts should be made to bring the child's schedule up to date as quickly as possible; therefore, it is recommended that the simultaneous administration of giving certain vaccines at the same time can safely and effectively be done, especially since the return of these patients to the clinics cannot be guaranteed (see guidelines for live and killed antigen administration, page 6).
