Hi Not sure how frequently this group is visited anymore ... but I was wondering if you could help?

I posted a picture (4 in 1) of my daycare right now ... and it is in desperate need of some wall decorations. I'm thinking ABC border (like they have in classrooms), a Color poster of some sort, Shapes poster, things like that. I've been looking on-line and have found the ABC border, but cannot find other posters that would be suitable for a daycare (instead of K-5th grade). Any suggestions on where to find these?

Do you have a teacher store anywhere by you? Otherwise check out,, or As a teacher, that's where I got many of my posters.

I found great posters at the dollar tree for.....yes a dollar each. A dollar tree in a smaller town did not have a god selection but one in a bigger city did.

Our walls are covered in art. We have each child's picture up on a paper painted "picture frame". On the other wall are currently working on our garden unit, so we are making a garden out of construction paper. I alternate garden parts with take home crafts - so we have been adding 2/3 elements per day. So it is a very inexpensive way to decorate, and it looks so personal and special. Plus, prospective parents really love seeing all the artwork. We have also done the same with our ocean unit (blue paper all over, and then added fish, seaweed, crabs, etc).

We have clouds hanging from the ceiling, which look really cute. A big sun that we all made together hangs also. Those would also be cute at the tops of the walls.

I also have a cork board, just the unframed squares, with each child's name and pictures of them & their art. That takes up a lot of space and looks really adorable.

Hanging the children's art is the way to go! I have art that the children have done all over. In my reading area I have a clock, A dry erase poster that has "what we did this week, letter of the week, and color of the week" that hangs up above the reading couch along with art done in the color of the week. I also have an artists poster up above my easel where I display one piece of art along with a name (that is the only place that I display names. All other work does not show names due to parents comparing their child's with others). I also have pictures of the kids doing activities. I also have a shelf up that has spots for 4 pictures and I put pics of the kids and my attendance book is on it and an air freshner next to the front door entrance. And lastly, on one wall I have cubbies for the children's personal items with a wall coat hanger above it. I have some pics on here, but I really need to update them-they are from when I first opened with barely anything on the walls!
