I added a heavy duty, insulated garage door, a handwashing sink, padded vinyl flooring, play rugs and had the HVAC system run into the garage with its own thermostat. From the outside, it appears to be just a garage. I have not had a problem with zoning. Few even know we are in here for safety.  I am not in California, though. |

| Michael | Welcome to the forum. I live in Ventura and I think it would more be a zoning issue. You should check with your city or county clerk. |

| royalgal | I have a garage off my daycare room, I live in Riverside CA, does anyone know if I need a permit to convert the garage into a daycare room. If I leave the garage doors and just put up curtains in front of them, and then just paint walls and add cute carpet and such to make it a daycare room extension. |
