We need to do this post weekly. I struggle to come up with healthy meals that the kids will eat. I have a few that they love but i dont want to serve the same thing every week.
Today: spinach ravioli with zucchini sauce, melon, milk That's all i got for this week. I have a lot of groceries but no plan. |
Am I the only one who doesn't do a weekly plan lol today we had homemade pizza, cucumber sticks, carrot sticks and ranch dipping sauce.
|
I always intend on making a menu but it rarely happens!
Today we had ham and hummus sandwiches on whole wheat bread, apple slices, baby spinach, and milk. Tomorrow? Probably baked chicken, baked sweet potato, mango, and broccoli. |
I thought that there was a whole food section on the form???
|
Well since I just lost my last two kiddos, I was thinking caviar, ice cream and wine?:lol::lol::lol:
LOL. Back to regular programming. |

Today's lunch is a breakfast bake. I seems to find an abundance of eggs in my fridge. :)

We are required to have a menu posted for the state now as well as the food program. I always try to plan a month of main dishes ahead and then fill in veg and fruit depending on what is on sale/ on hand etc.

I don't understand how you guys get your kids to eat all this stuff! OR where you find the time to make it all!?? I make meals, but nothing this fancy! No one would eat it if I did. I know it's not our job to make them eat; only to serve, but it kills me to throw food away.
|
And here we are, onto another week. So soon???
It looks like Tuesday will be: Pork chops, brown rice, applesauce, green beans, grapes Wednesday: Turkey and provolone wraps, lettuce and tomato, fresh pineapple, red peppers Thursday: Cheeseburgers on buns, cauliflower, peaches Friday: Pizza and try to finish up whatever fruits/veggies we need to And AuntTami, I pretty much know who will eat what but I still serve the teeniest portion of everything to everybody. Then designate a day and use up leftover veggies/fruits. Or redo them as something else. :) I have many kids who appear to have never had a veggie in their lives  and if they eat it or try it great, if not, either the dogs will get it or the garbage will. I hate wasting food too. :( But I've gone from serving the required amounts(why if you know they're not going to eat it )to giving them a miniscule serving. Someone told us at a training it takes 19 times of serving something before it is accepted. Not sure if I agree with that or not. |
