Have My First Interview Tomorrow!
I am excited and pretty nervous actually. The last few weeks have been difficult for me, even beginning to think i should close up shop and go back to work full time. Just dont want to do that to my own little ones. Got back from my trip to CA and now that everyone is settled back into routine am ready to get ads going again. Got a bite tonight from someone who say my add on craigslist, going to come tommrow to check the place out! So spent the evening cleaning everything really well and hoping for something good. Need to review my contract and make sure its all up to date, also probably lower my weekly rate to 85$, little lower than the average daycare facility around here, but i have two spots to fill, three starting next year once my oldest is in school full time. Im excited! Must breath.....

Just remember, YOU are interviewing them - as well as them interviewing you. Just act calm, cool, and collected - even if you don't feel that way inside. ;)
You are going to do GREAT!!! :) |
Fingers crossed for you. :) Good Luck! I hope they sign on.
|
Any word yet? I really hope they decide to sign up.
|
Nope. They decided to go with another friend who wasnt going to charge them.
So still looking for two spots to open. I have one with cherokee nation but still have to send in an application before i can accept it |
How much is your average weekly rate? $85/week is really low and where I live our cost of living is even low. Are you licensed? Have you called a referral agency to find out the going rates in your area? I would stay close to the average rates. Starting out is hard. I advertised back starting on Halloween for November openings. My first kids started in January and BOOM I interviewed 3 families in December/January all who started, but the first handful of interviews were pretty much to gain knowledge of what people ask because they didn't sign up or come back. I have had a few tours since January and 1 signed up and 1 didn't. Both spent an hour here for a tour, but things happen for a reason and I'm very happy with the families I have!

its 125 in a daycare center, i am liscensed but we are a small home so charging less seems more appropriate anyway.

Do you have a website? Having a website is the best form of advertisement in my area. It's a big area and many people do a Google search to find child care.
