Where Do You Get Your Health Insurance?

My husband is thinking about quitting his current job and going back to school for something else. I have no idea what to do for health insurance. Do any of you pay your own health care insurance? Are there plans specifically for child care providers and their family?

We currently have no children of our own, though are thinking about having a baby in the near future... if we had good insurance.

I would look up obamacare, apparently there will be or is health care offered to everyone. It goes based on income (I believe), regular insurance, just more affordable.

Our local chamber of commerce has an insurance program for small businesses. You pay $600.00 to join the chamber, and then the monthly rates are reasonable for individual health insurance, 250-600 ish a month. It is also guaranteed acceptance, which is nice for me since I have Pre-existing conditions and would be hard pressed to find health insurance on an individual plan.

We got our healthcare insurance from BCBS. It's good that you're thinking about your health insurance before having a baby since most companies won't cover prenatal check ups if they've found out you're pregnant already. If by chance you are under 25 you can now be on your parents plan not sure if you are married if it applies.

We currently are with Cigna and pay around $450 per month with a $10,000 annual deductable (family of 4). We were with United Health Care last year and switched this year to save $100 per month on our premium. HTH :)

Don't have any. Can't afford it. DH lost his job in 2008 and after Cobra ran out and the economy bombed we can't pay the premium. Hoping Obamacare will work out for us.
