How Many Kids Do You Care For?
How many children do you currently have in your daycare & how many do you WANT to care for? Curious...

Licensed for 10 plus 3 after school
I currently have 7 plus 4 after school I like a group of 8 and could leave the afterschool but these are great kids. My grandkids do not count in ratio but Mr D is like 2 3 yr olds so I count him I am happy with my group but could use a bit more income so will enroll another or 2 especially since 2 of these are p/t |

Licensed for 10. I have 5 enrolled (all FT) plus my two after school.
I never enroll more than 6, I have a personal preference for younger small group care (Currently 2-7 month olds, 1-3 year old, 1-4 year old, 1-5 year old). Once kiddos get into kindy/1st grade they age out of my program with very few exceptions. |
My license is 12, but I have 6 enrolled and then my own 2. That is enough for me and some days too many:cool:!
|
We are licensed for 12, with two adults present.
Currently have a total of 14 enrolled, and are full with 12 in attendance each day. Out of the 14 enrolled: 3 year olds:4 2 year olds:4 1 year olds:3 Infants: 3 We are happy with having 12, although with so many 3 year olds it can get crazy. Our dynamics are changing soon, all 4 of our 3 year olds will be 4 by March and will leave us in either May or August; and two new sibilings will be born this Spring. As is the daycare business and the nature of dealing with children, things are always changing :). |
I have 5 dc and my own 2. all under 4 yo. That is more than enough! LOL
|
I have 3 dcb(all 3 yo), my 4 yo ds, and 18 mo ds). And another 2 yo dcg to start shortly!
|
4 fulltimers. I'd like 6 eventually, but only when they're all older. I have a 9 month old now and can't wait until he hits the 18 month mark. Then I'll have a 5, 3, 2 and 18 month old and an awesomely fun group :)
|
I'm licensed for 6 and I have 6 enrolled full-time.
I would love to be licensed for 10 like some of the older family homes, but unfortunately the city where I live will not allow anyone to be licensed over 5 now:( |
I am licensed for 6 under 5 plus 2 SA kids,
I have 7 under 5, (2 pt'ers alternate days). The rest are all ft. I have 5-2yos 2-3yos one sa dcb (6) I am VERY happy with my current arrangement and have great kids! :D |
Licensed for 8.
I have 8. 1 only before school, 1 before and after, 2 after school only, 1 MWF, and 3 home during the day. I do have an opening for 1 more FT which I would love to fill. |
Until I am licensed I can take 3 unrelated and 3 that are related. After I am licensed I will be able to have 8.
My state does not allow group family c care. I've just started and I have 3 enrolled. |
I am legally unlicensed to provide paid care for 4 children, but cannot exceed 6 children total (including my own).
I have 4 full-time kiddos and 2 of my own. I'm hoping in the next 2-3 years to change that to 3 full-time kiddos and 3 of my own :). |
I'm allowed to have 5 children.
Right now I have one PT 16mo boy 1 PT 7mo girl 1 FT 5mo boy I'm happy with my group and don't wish to take on anymore right now. I just started in May. |
I'm allowed 6 fulltime, and 3 after school.
I have 5ft and 3 after school. I would like to fill the one spot and use the $ to hire help :ouch: |
Im licensed for 12 with help or 8 alone with 2 sa kids. I have my 2 kids plus 2 full time children 2 school age kids that drop in from time to time and are full time in the summer. I have 2 part time kids plus another 4 that i think may not be returning to daycare after maternity leave. I have only been open 6 months.
|
I'm licensed for 7 and I have 1 dck and 2 of my own (although my 5 year old does not count in my ratio). I'd like to fill up and enroll 5 more. I just opened December 10th so I;m still working on getting the word out and building a good reputation
|
It's amazing the difference in licensing regs. Mine allows for 10 kids & 3 SA kids per shift. I think any more than 8 would be chaotic.
|
I'm licenses for 8 per shift (license for 3 shifts). Currently I have 11 enrolled...
2 1 yo dcb (FT) 1 3yo dcg (FT) 1 4 yo dcb (PT) 1 3yo dcb (PT enrolled in head start during the day comes to me after school) 1 2yo dcb (PT on 2nd shift shares a spot with the 4yo PT) 2 SA and 1 7mo dcg, 1 2yo dcg, and 3yo dcb (drop in two Saturdays a month) Im praying for a couple of FT so I can drop the PTs especially the 2nd shift one. Its only 2 night a week, but I would love to just be able to relax and spend time with my daughter on those evenings. |
In Ontario, Canada, I'm only allowed five children/dwelling (plus my own but I have no kids of my own) at any time. I currently have three full time children, three part time children sharing two spots and one b/a school boy. I like the way my group works right now. I love when a couple are away and I have just three but I think it'd get boring on a regular basis.
|
I am allowed to have five. I currently have four but am looking to fill that last spot soon.
|
I can have 8 children total including my own - I care for an additional 5. 2 of my children are school agers.
|
I am licensed for 16. 12 full time and four sa children. With a helper of course.
My part time children are a two and four year old boys and a almost two year old girl. FULL TIME CHILDREN: four one year olds a six week old three three year olds, one is mine one two year old a new born who will start in June a five year old a nine year old my own six and nine year old that dont count and a family with a three and six year old might be back onece mom finds a job again. I think thats all lol . I have an interview tonight for a 15 week old and one on the 15th for a ten week old. |
I am licensed for 8. I have 3 S/A before & after school M-F, 1- one yr old M-F, 2-two yr old M-F, 1-two yr old 2 days a week, 1- four yr old 4 days a week, & 1 nine mth old 2 days a week.
The two that come 2 days a week come on different days, so I'm pretty much at full capacity almost every day. I'm at my busiest at 3 pm... naps are over, kids are home from school and I'm helping them with homework & getting everyone an afternoon snack. |
I'm allowed to have 6 in my care, including 3 under the age of 2.
My oldest son, who is 10, doesn't count. Right now I have my own 2 kids, 10 years old (in school) & 10 months old...(you heard me! Haha :D) 2 full time kids ages 3 & 16 months... 3 part time kids ages 5, 7 (in school) & 3... 1 drop in kid age 5 (in half-day Kindergarten) I have another full timer who is 18 months but tomorrow is her last day here. I wish I had 1.) all full time kids 2.) all 1st shift kids 3.) all kids under age 3 Is that too much to ask?? My 10 month old could count for 2 full time spots, that baby is a handful! I also had to expand my hours recently, so now I open at 6 AM some days & close at 10:15 PM some days. It's exhausting! |
Licensed for 7 with only 2 of those being under the age of 2yrs.
I have 7 enrolled- ages 10 months, 13 months, 2yrs, 3 yrs, 4yrs, 4 yrs, 5yrs. In February my own daughter will turn 6yrs and will no longer count against my license. I have a family lined up with a 2yr old and will have 8 kids under the age of 5 at that point. I don't have a preference with how many kids at one time. BUT in a perfect world I would love to have just preschoolers in care ages 3-5 only. The babies and toddlers are so much work! |
I currently have 3. A 4 yr old DCB- 3/4 days a week. A 3 yr old DCG FT. And a 1 yr old DCB FT. I would like 2 more..any ages. With me the more the merrier:)
|
In the toddler room I work in, we have 12 children on our attendance, we average 7-10 a day with myself and my sister (yes, I work with my sister. It is awesome). If we get more than 10 we get an additional worker. I like having the number we have in our room.
|
I am licensed for 10 children.
I have 8 enrolled Full-Time ages 2-5 Plus I have my 2 kids (KG and 2nd that we homeschool) |
I am licensed for 8. I have 10 enrolled. 2 are FT, the other 8 are PT. I have between 4-8 at a time. I like what I've got. I would prefer to have all FT'ers instead of balancing so many PT's, but on the other hand, it's nice to have more variety in kiddos.
