Wwyd?

I have a client with a 3 day/week set schedule, they pay for my higher PT rate. They also drop off early (7, I open at 7:30) and pick up early (3, never any later and that is their contracted time) Mom works 7:30-2:30 and skips her lunch hour to get right back to dck.

Got a call for a kid, who needs ONLY 3:30-5:30, and dcb's exact 3 day set schedule.

What would you charge them? The interviewing family said that they would pay for the full day, but I want to make it clear that they can NOT use it and charge less. WWYD?

I would probably charge an hourly rate for only 2 hours.

I would charge half of my part time /full time day rate. Anything less than 5 hours (scheduled) gets charged that...

I would, too. My hourly rate is double what my typical "hourly rate" for full-timers is (although, I don't charge full-timers by the hour you get what I mean).

Hourly or 1/2 day if you have the space for some overlap if they request an earlier drop off and they want that option available.

I personally only charge by the week, or by the day at a drop in rate. If this client were mine, I'd tell them that I could accomadate those hours, because of another client needing all but those hours those days. I would quote them the full drop in rate and they could take it or leave it.- making it very clear, I could not accomadate an earlier drop off or later pickup. I wouldn't reduce my fees (though I can see your reasons for wanting to). I wouldn't really want another kid here for just a couple hours a day. They would have a harder time getting on our schedule, following rules, etc. etc. Plus it adds another drop off/pick up to my day. If they could agree to my terms, I'd sign them on; otherwise, they could keep looking.
