Transition Trouble!

Happy Friday!! 🙌🏻

My babies are all around one year, oldest is 14 months old. I love planning and doing activities with them and they really enjoy it too. The problem is that at the end of each activity, it’s TOTAL meltdown mode. Screaming, throwing themselves on the floor, chasing me while clawing at my legs as I put up the activity. It really makes me wonder if it’s really even worth while or if I should wait until they are older. My feeling is that their fits are so extreme that they don’t even remember the fun we just had. It’s really disheartening.

I try letting them know when we’re almost done. I let them know they each get one more turn, if it’s an activity that calls for it. I keep it light and cheery as I’m putting the activity away. I tell them we’ll play it again soon. I know they are really to young to understand all of this, but it feels like the only thing I can do.

I have a cry corner to use for unnecessary crying which works well for one at a time. They usually suck it right up when placed there. I can’t place all there at once though!

What should I do?

When I have a bunch of meltdowns at once I turn on some music and get out the little kid music instruments and that seems to calm them down right away.:)
