Is 3 Week Notice A Licensing Requirement?

Hello. I just wanted to ask a question. My son is currently in a family daycare. I can no longer afford it and I have given notice that I'm going to be removing him from the daycare center. I told her verbally on Friday. Today she is telling me that there is a 3 week notice. That its a licensing requirement. I just wanted to know if that is correct. The provider claims that its in the contract so I can hopefully see a copy today

If you signed a contract, do you not have a copy of it?

I would doubt that it is a licensing regulation, but it is likely in her contract if you ever signed one and she has every right to enforce it if it is.

Good luck :)

anytime you sign a contract you need a copy of it.

But no states do not tell providers how to run their business well not that part anyway. so she is lying on that.

If she has it in her contract but you did not sign it then she can not enforce it.

I have never heard of licensing requiring notice, but if you did sign and agree to notice with a contract, you are obligated to adhere to it.
