Canada here so some of my stat holidays are different.

Closed paid days

New years day - January 1
Family day - February 17 (third monday of month)
Easter friday
Easter monday (not an official stat but get paid)
Victoria day - may 18 (third monday)
Canada day - July 1
Civic holiday- August 3 (first monday) (not official stat but get paid)
Labour day - September 7 (first monday)
Thanksgiving - October 12 ( seconed monday)
Christmas day - December 25
Boxing Day - December 26

I also close early on halloween at 5:00 instead of 6pm and on Christmas eve at 12pm. Both are regular pay days.

I also take up to 3 weeks off unpaid. I'll be taking a couple days of it at christmas 21- 23 and the 24 off in lieu of boxing day. Also Canada day is on a Wednesday this year so I'll be taking off either the Monday tuesday or the thursday friday to make it a long weekend. One week of vacation will be taken in summer. Vacation days are given to parents at least 1 month in advance, but I'll tell them when I book. For example we go camping during the summer for that week, but cant book till its 5 months before but we book then, and I'll tell parents right away so they actually end up with 5 months notice. I'll let parents know soon for the days off at Christmas next year. Vacation days are not paid here.

All of the stat holidays are paid except Christmas (family day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, etc) I take the stat holidays during xmas as part of my vacation which is unpaid. This year I took 3 weeks off during Christmas but only used 5 of my 20 vacation days because stats don’t count in my vacation time if that makes sense! I tally it the way my husbands work tally’s his vacay.

I take two weeks during the summer as well. I feel like, for me anyway, having unpaid vacation means the parents don’t seem to mind so much how much time I take off which benefits me.

I get 5 paid sick days and 5 paid personal days. Anything beyond that is unpaid.
