I wouldn't feel safe without the door being locked. The back door to the backyard is unlocked.

Two different authorities deem it necessary to keep your front door unlocked? I would be interested to know what the police would advise. In my large suburban city, my judgment is that an unlocked door is more dangerous than a locked door.

A locked door keeps out unwanted persons and keeps IN active children!
