Two weeks ago after 33 years of childcare I finally let my final three families know that I was retiring. I gave them 9 months notice and they were all happy for me. (wonderful parents) I also told them if they found spots earlier then jump on them because the climate of daycare in our area is that when you have a positive pregnancy test you get on the waiting lists. Everything was great.

Since I announced it my one perfect mom with the most lovable child lost her pregnancy of 6 months, lost a good friend to cancer, her dog died and her landlord gave her notice.

I feel like my retirement seems like a kick in the head to her although she has not said one thing to me. She is always cheerful and always says things will work out.

But I really have to keep my mouth shut because I just want to tell her that I will be here for as long as she needs me but she is not my child. ( just my daughter friend)

Ugggg!!!! Life is so unfair sometimes to the most wonderful people.
