I don't think it is a bad word, but I don't think it is a great word either, if that makes sense. It is sort of like the word damn to me. I don't think either word is int he same category as the f-word, but they are not words I like to hear out of my kid's mouths, so we try not to say them in front of them. I have some very close english friends though, and the word pissed means being drunk for them, so I can see it from their perspective too. So, anyway, not a great word, but not a bad word that falls into the swear word category for me.

Just to add, if a kid said, "I am so pissed right now!" I would say "Henry, you mean you are so angry or upset right now" and just ignore the word, but if they said "I am so f***ing mad" I would tell them we do not use that word and also speak to thier parent about it, incase they are hearing that language at home frequently.
