The 16 month old and 18 month old are both talking more than the 2 year old, the 16 month old using 3 word phrases. I get that every child develops in their own time, but when the doctor is telling mom not to worry about speech until child is between 3 and 4, it is so frustrating!
My second child didn’t really start talking until he was 3.5 and my oldest was speaking in complete sentences by 18 months. Every child is different. Doctor wasn’t concerned in our case either. Just communicate the best you can and encourage using words the best you can.
